Fritz Richards

More Info

Fritz offers Prestwick’s clients experiences in investment banking, corporate law and business advising. He has sourced and closed numerous transactions in the middle market, first with Goldsmith Agio Helms (now Lazard Middle Market) and later with Greene Holcomb and Fisher (now BMO Capital Markets) before co-founding Prestwick in 2003. Prior to becoming an investment banker, Fritz was a corporate attorney with Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Fritz’s experience encompasses public offerings of equity and debt securities, mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations, joint ventures, private placements, fairness opinions and valuations. He has advised clients in a number of industries including building products, industrial services, aerospace and defense, automotive aftermarket, among many others.

Fritz received a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School and a BS in business administration from the University of Colorado with an emphasis in finance.

Ingo Schulz

Ingo is a co-founder of Prestwick and has an extensive background in investment banking. Prior to Prestwick, he was a senior banker at Greene Holcomb & Fisher (now BMO Capital Markets) and Goldsmith, Agio, Helms (now Lazard Middle Market), both middle-market investment banking firms.

For more than 25 years, Ingo has sourced and directed client engagements for both private and public companies involved in a broad range of transactions. His past clients range in size from start-up ventures to large multi-national corporations that participate in numerous industries, including consumer products, business and industrial services, diversified manufacturing, and specialty distribution.

Ingo received an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and a BS in business administration from the University of St. Thomas with an emphasis in finance.

Mike Groppetti

Mike joined Prestwick in 2005 as a Partner. Prior to joining Prestwick, he was a vice president with Greene Holcomb & Fisher (now BMO Capital Markets). Mike has also worked with RBC Dain Rauscher and with Riggs Bank in London, England.

Mike has nearly 20 years experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and other corporate finance transactions. He has represented a wide variety of private equity groups and entrepreneurs, as well as private and public companies located throughout North America and abroad. Mike has broad sell-side M&A experience in niche manufacturing, technology, capital equipment, business services, industrial, building products, consumer products, food and software.

Mike received an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and a BS in business administration from the University of Missouri with an emphasis in finance.

Joe Peterson

Prior to joining Prestwick, Joe worked as a corporate development and strategy manager at Best Buy, the world’s largest consumer electronics retailer. Joe previously worked as an equity analyst at two large institutional investment managers, covering global industrial companies at Artisan Partners in New York, New York, and utilities and telecom companies at Brandes Investment Partners in San Diego, California.

Joe’s career as both a corporate development professional and investment analyst has given him experience in a variety of disciplines, including divestitures, fundamental asset valuation, portfolio management, and strategic industry analysis. He has extensive experience across a number of diverse global industries, including utilities, fixed and wireless telecom, capital goods, technology, and retail.

Joe received an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York and a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin with an emphasis in finance. Joe is a CFA charterholder.

Steve Matz

Steve joined Prestwick Partners in 2013. Prior to joining Prestwick Partners, he worked at Wells Fargo Bank in the areas of retail banking, wealth management, and home mortgage.
Steve has advised Prestwick clients in a broad range of industries, including niche manufacturing, branded consumer products, industrial distribution, business services, healthcare, and technology.

Steve received a BS in finance and economics from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Sam Hafermann

Sam joined Prestwick in 2021.  Prior to joining Prestwick, Sam was a member of Riveron’s transaction advisory practice focusing on buy and sell-side due diligence for M&A transactions in the middle-market.  Sam began his career as an associate at KPMG. Sam has transaction experience in a variety of industries, including niche manufacturing, SAAS, healthcare, business services, and branded consumer products.

Sam attended the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, where he received a BS in finance and accounting.

Connor Mohs

Connor joined Prestwick in 2022. Prior to joining Prestwick, Connor worked as a senior associate at KPMG, performing audit procedures for several multi-national alternative investment firms and a publicly traded manufacturing company.

Connor received a MAcc with an emphasis in data analytics from the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri and a BS in finance and accounting from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Peter Warcup

Peter joined Prestwick in 2024. Prior to joining Prestwick, Peter worked as a senior associate on Ernst & Young’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services team, focusing primarily on IPOs, SPAC transactions, and carve-outs. He has experience advising companies of all sizes, ranging from large multi-national corporations to privately-held companies preparing to go public.

Peter attended the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, where he received a BS in accounting.

Ryan Kivlehan

Ryan joined Prestwick in 2022.  Prior to joining Prestwick, Ryan was a member of CliftonLarsonAllen’s Business Valuation Group, focusing on gift and estate tax valuations as well as purchase price allocations and goodwill impairments. He has experience working with companies of all sizes, from large publicly-traded corporations to small privately-held companies in a variety of industries.

Ryan attended Pepperdine University, where he received a BA in business administration.
